Secants Lux by the_muehl

Sectantes Lux is a 2D side scrolling puzzle horror project made in Unity. Awakwen in a post apocalyptic city scape, with no memories and a metal arm! Run from a mysterious monster that hunts you down as you travel between light sources to keep the darkness at bay! Heavily inspired by Limbo and Inside. I led Game Design and Development. I was nominated for Excellence in Game Design at Washington State University for my work on this project.

I greatly expanded my game design and development knowledge through my work on this project. For the first time I worked directly with the Unity Animator and Shader systems.

Creating the logic and spider-web of connectors to switch between our animations was a great learning experience and required a lot of testing to confirm that the logic worked out.

Sectantes Lux was also the first time I worked with the Unity Shader system to create our rolling fog. It was a bit complex at first but really added alot of depth and character to the world. I also added a particle system to simulate flying debris to accompany the fog system and establish that this is a post apocalyptic city.
